Law-Related Education

The Law-Related Education (LRE) Department of the State Bar of Texas serves as a catalyst for advancing law-related and civic education programs throughout the state. Through curriculum development and educator training, LRE supports efforts to increase understanding of the law, promote civic engagement, and strengthen participation in the democratic process.

LRE works collaboratively with the legal community through the Law Focused Education Committee, a standing committee of the State Bar of Texas composed of attorneys and public members. The department also partners with public and private school districts, universities, and Regional Education Service Centers to administer a variety of programs designed to enhance civic education and promote the effective administration of justice.
